Article description: Air Projet Ultrasound Aerosol
Technological innovation makes electronic and ultrasound nebulisers available for inhalation therapy. Their operation is based on the fact that the ultrasonic waves generated by a piezoelectric transducer stimulate the medicine through a conductive liquid (water) at a given frequency. This creates energy able to overcome the drug molecules' cohesion force, causing their nebulisation. An adjustable air flow generated by a small vent enables the aerosol to be directed into the respiratory tract through the tube connected to the dedicated accessories (masks, mouthpiece, nose fork).
The advantages of this technology are its extreme ease of use, completely silent operation and considerable reduction in therapy time, making it particularly suitable for paediatric use.
